Storybook and Fairytale Project - Maurice the Wild Thing

I have really enjoyed this project!  The task to create a plushie from a partners favourite storybook really set my creative juices flowing and when my partner Kasia (ThePixels) said that she would like to choose "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak ( I chose the very same book!) I was overjoyed!  Monsters and creatures are my favourite things to create.

Well - here are a few pictures of the creature I made.

His name is Maurice (after the author Maurice Sendak).  He is made of two types of fur fabric and his pattern was designed as I went along on pattern paper and using a sketchbook.

He looks very " Muppety"  possibly due to my love of all things Henson :)

He will be on sale in my Etsy shop later today although I will find it very hard to part with him!!

I also made a video of him which is on Youtube - my first ever video! :)  There are more pictures of him on my Flickr page.
