Prepare yourself for a petrifying plush palace...

I chose to create a haunted house for this month's Halloween Challenge, and I had such a good time doing it! I love soft playhouses, and I think they have such wonderful play value for rich imaginations. So what could be more fun than tossing together funky prints and appliqueing patches of Halloween fabric on as windows? Oh, fellow plush lovers, read on...

The front door opens and closes, latching shut using an elastic lock around it's button doorknob. This makes it sort of a no no for the under 3 crowd, you know how they can be with small objects. Half of the roof lifts so that little hands can easily access the interior of the house. And here's the exciting part: the embroidery thread I used for the quilting and appliqueing GLOWS IN THE DARK! Oh, I know, I'm excited, too! I couldn't get a decent picture of its glowing spooktacularness, so you'll just have to check it out for yourself after you buy it from my shop right over here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15494336.
