What many people don't see is the prep work that goes into getting ready for a show. We put loads of thought and planning into creating a visually interesting booth/space that compels folks to step into our plush world.
Recently, Needlings was cited on Indie Craft Shows (dot) com as having a great booth design. (See the photo below.) I agree. The display is open and friendly, with multiple heights and just enough product displayed. And that's what everyone sees. And that's what they should see.

I'm going to show you how the sausage is made!
I have two shows coming up very soon. I'm in total crunch mode. Yes, I can review the past few months and see where I could have made better choices. I should have worked on plush instead of worrying about making butterhorns for Easter. I should have stayed home and worked on plush instead of having cocktails on Sunday afternoon....
Here's the reality. I've got three days before a Saturday show. I'm turning, stuffing and sewing Chupacabras, Pigs and Hippos. Not to mention my little scrap monsters I call Fuzzbutts. This is what my living room looks like. Like a plush bomb went off!
If all goes well, I'll have a beautiful booth come Saturday morning. Let's just hope there are enough Law & Order re-runs to get me through a day of hand-sewing the stuff holes of 42 Fuzzbutts; 35 Chupacabras, 6 Piggies and 4 Hippos!Oh, and you can see the finished results on Saturday, April 25th at the Fernwood Montessori School Fine Art Fair in Milwaukee, then at the St. Paul Craftstravaganza on May 2 at the Fine Art Building of the Minesota State Fair Grounds. (Plush Team Member FuzFrenzy and her super Kawaii amigurumi will also be there!)

Oooh... I've got the panic going, too! Thanks for sharing this... it's good to know others can feel my pain! (Not that I wish it upon anyone :) )
Thanks for the nod! :)
I hope everyone has a great season!
I love that you're giving a behind the scenes glimpse.
