Randomly Cute Wednesday Featuring: moonscreations and The Moon Rabbit

Moonscreations began designing amigurumi in 2005 and hasn’t looked back since. Her trademark Moon Bun, short for Moon Bunny, was created in December 2006 and she says that like real bunnies, they've multiplied and taken over her life!

On behalf of moonscreations I would like to welcome you to the land of Moon, where tiny bunnies dance and sing. They love to make new friends and dress in fancy costumes. I would like to introduce you to one such bunny -The Moon Rabbit - a rabbit that lives on the moon in East Asian folklore. The legends about the moon rabbit are based on the markings of the moon, which appear to be a rabbit pounding in a mortar. In Japanese folklore, the rabbit is pounding mochi. Mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape. While eaten year-round, mochi is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year.

I have been desperately fighting to resist buying this adorable set for the longest time, and so far have succeeded. Isn't Moons Creations just the best? Swoon.
