I have a confession to make... every Valentine's Day I wake up thinking that maybe, just maybe, a secret admirer sent me flowers that would be waiting at my doorstep when I open the door.
Phew, now that that's out in the open... this Valentine's Day was no different than the last. I woke up, fed Baby Wonderful (my cat) and wished her a Happy Valentine's Day and asked her what she got me. Nothing. Again. I gave her some food, made myself some coffee, and wandered down the stairs to see if any 'special' mail had come. But wait! What is that??? A package??? With uncontrollable excitement, I whipped open the door, snatched up my package and ran upstairs. The moment I saw the name on the package I knew I should brace myself, Yummy Pancake. I tore open the box and... YELPED in excitement. That's right, I may be almost 30 but a Slow Loris eating Pumpkin Pie??? Seriously??? That can bring a grown woman to tears.
Every year the Plush Team does a secret plush swap. This year we made it Valentine's Day/Leap Year so that we could all recover from the holiday rush. We fill out a few questions before hand of what our favorite animals, colors, foods, etc are to help our secret swapee come up with some ideas if they're struggling. Denise, from Yummy Pancake, apparently took that and ran with it. The slow loris is quite possibly my favorite animal in the world and pumpkin pie? Forget about it, it's love at first site every time. A pumpkin pie eating slow loris??? I crumbled to my knees and assumed the 'Lion King position' lifting Slow Loris high above my head, arms outstretched to the sky.
I mean, look at him. Just LOOK at him!
I can't think of a more perfect Valentine's Day surprise on my front step.
And as if all of that wasn't enough, Baby Wonderful got a sweet surprise, as well. Homegrown catnip filled goodies. Kitty HEAVEN!
So thank you, Denise. From the bottom of my plush heart to yours.
