I live in a 50's modern ranch that has what used to be referred to as a "Florida Room." It's basically a glorified screened-in porch that is more incorporated into the house. It's a long room with windows on all 4 sides. Over the years this room has been adapted for different uses. When my grandparents owned the house it was a den, when my parents took over it was a dining room, and now that I've taken ownership of this family legacy it is what has served as my studio the past 5 years. I recently moved the studio out of the house and into Broadhope Art Collective but signs of my workshop remain in the enormous plush collection I've amassed over the years.
Zazu made the excellent suggestion of creating a ledge over the windows for displaying the collection, and that's where many of my soft treasures live. It's so fun to see them all lined up in a row. I see friends old and new, Plush Team members past and present, trips I've taken across the country. I see plush from Maker Faire in San Mateo, Renegade in Chicago, Oddmall in Northern Ohio, and Plush Retreat in Virginia. This is a ledge full of fond memories.
It also calls attention to the god-awful tile ceiling we have yet to do anything about. I'm open to suggestions, folks. Right now all I can come up with is painting it.
