Hi! My name is Michal Wright-Ward and I'd like to welcome you to my studio. I've had a lot of working spaces over the years. First I used a desk in our dining room that was so small that I had to put my hand through my sewing machine to get to my computer keyboard. Then was the famous studio-in-the-closet, which I still miss a little bit. And then we bought a house, with one of the things on the very top of the priority list - enough studio space. My husband is also a creative professional (we both work in animation), and has been sharing the same cramped conditions as me over the years. And now we own a beautiful home in Los Angeles, with a whole 270 square feet of a converted garage studio - so much space even our son gets his own corner. In this new space, I have room for pretty much anything i ever wanted in a studio: an art wall with work by many of my favorite artists, a glass door closet for my fabric stash (well… most of it…), room to paint in (digitally or otherwise) and a window overlooking my vegetable garden. What can I say? I'm in love. Now, if I can always keep it this tidy and not just when I have guests. Yeah right, who am I kidding? Enjoy your stay!
